This is the final update that Season 6 will receive. Just a few edits to revert settings to how they were prior to Season 6, as well as provide some entertainment before a big update.

WoE:

• Ghostring, GTB, and FBH are blocked in WoE, all other Boss Cards have been enabled.
• All Babylon set items are allowed in WoE again.
• WoE Participation boxes will now drop 100 BG badges.
• WoE Winner boxes will now drop 50 BG badges.

Others:

• Fixed Babylon Axe quest.
• December loyalty pack added.

WoonRO Memories:

BG for rAthena has been implemented, which means I can properly start preparing the merge of all WoonRO data. I have discussed this with several people and spent the last few weeks contemplating what I wish to do with WoonRO. I believe there have been many good ideas and features on WoonRO, but it is a setup that lacks longevity and stability. I know that most of you are okay with this — having 2–3 months of a highly competitive environment is appealing rather than a slow-paced server that lasts 6–12 months. That's why you all play mid rates and hop from one mid rate to the next.

I have also come to the conclusion that having a fast-paced mid rate for 6–12 months is possible only with a very dedicated staff, and especially an admin/developer who can treat the server as a full-time job. I am not in a position to offer that, nor will I ever be. The days when I could invest 5–10 hours a day into the server for months on end are long gone. My job and family allow for a period when I can dedicate a similar amount of time to WoonRO, which is when the last few seasons have been launched. But at most, that's 4–5 months out of the year, and when we consider development and pre-launch prep, we get the longevity you’ve seen in the last few seasons.

I do not wish to abandon over a decade worth of player data and effort by all of you. I also know WoonRO is a very special place to many of you, as it is for me. But I do not wish to keep repeating the same cycle over and over. Now that I have a clean slate on rAthena where I can bring most of our features and refine them, I wish to create WoonRO Memories, where all the past effort can live on — but at a slower pace. Seasons will still happen and will be used as intended: limited-time extensions of WoonRO for experimental or exclusive content. Once a season ends, only characters transferred to WoonRO Memories will retain those items until the next season. Every season we have tried to make it “the one” that lasts forever, even though we all know what will happen. That leads to frustration both for players and for me.

As for Season 7, which has been asked about many times: I have no intention of working on it throughout 2026. I wish to dedicate my time to WoonRO Memories, and I will be assisting with an unrelated project in the second half of 2026. I don’t think it’s realistic to promise Season 7 under those conditions, but I think WoonRO Memories will offer plenty in between.

WoonRO Memories will launch Dec 30th, 2025. It will be a bare-bones server with only the essentials: BG, DS, WoE, Revival, and QoL features. These features will have the flare of WoonRO but will be re-worked significantly. Using these features, you will be able to earn a Memory Item. This item will be used to bring any character over from WoonRO Archives or Season 6. To fully automate the system would take several months of development, and that would once again reduce the time I can spend on actual server content. So I want to impose limits on what can be moved. This way, the system can be built gradually as characters are transferred, and the cost of moving characters will drop over time as automation improves.

What can be moved:

• Any and all equipment — including Babylon sets, God Items, donation items, costumes, and any other equipment with cards, refines, and enchants.

What cannot be moved:

• Zeny, CP, GC, or any other currencies
• Banned character data
• Items that are confirmed to have originated from bug abuse of any kind

Restrictions:

• There will be a limit of 10 items on the character. If the character has more than 10 items, the transfer will not be initiated.
• The transfer must be initiated from a 1/1 Novice on WoonRO Memories, which will have its class, levels, and items transferred over. from archives or season 6
• The transfer must be confirmed on Archives or Season 6 using the specified character.
• Archives, Season 6, and WoonRO Memories will all be online simultaneously.
• Once the transfer is completed, the character and all equipment will be deleted from the old databases forever. Once an account has no characters left, it will also be purged from the old database.
• Not all items will work the same way they did on previous servers. Transferring God Items may result in them being unusable until a later update. The more custom or renewal-related the content is, the higher the chance it will be unusable in the immediate future. Donation items and normally dropped items are the safest. You can always transfer characters later as more updates arrive.

Notes:

WoonRO Memories will have many updates in the early stages, so it’s very likely you will have to keep up with frequent patches as well as client updates.

If you are used to WoonRO servers, you will "feel" a very big difference in-game since we are using an emulator that WoonRO has never used before. The move from eAthena to Herc in 2015 was a big shift, but a linear one. The shift from 2020 Herc (Season 6) to 2025 rAthena will be huge. We will need to make a lot of on-the-fly adjustments to recapture the WoonRO “feel.” The WoonRO you all knew was fine-tuned for a decade, but due to emulator limitations we must move forward — just as we did when leaving eAthena.

I intend to focus on long-term playability for WoonRO Memories even though we are moving character data. Some features may be toned down or removed entirely. There are plenty of items in Archives and Season 6 for you to transfer over, so you can live without coatings and safe enchants. More info in the coming days and weeks.

Once WoonRO Memories is launched, features on Archives and Season 6 will slowly be turned off. Where eventually there will only be a single map with a single NPC to confirm transfers, so it would be wise to log on while you can and use up any unused currencies.
